Building a fair, sustainable, and affordable food system for Liverpool City Region
Building on the work of the VS6 Partnership and the wider VCFSE sector in the Liverpool City Region to improve access to sustainable and affordable food, the Combined Authority has commissioned a new project to map and understand our region’s food system.
This new mapping goes beyond VS6’s previous report on VCFSE food provision and access. It brings together local authorities, businesses, growers, producers, public sector organisations, distributors, and community food organisations to explore how food flows through the region (where it’s produced, shared, and accessed) and to identify the gaps and opportunities.
The goal is simple: good food for everyone, grown and shared in ways that strengthen communities, local economies, and the environment.
